Delete your smithworks account

Permanently delete your smithworks account and associated app data in the app, or send a request without opening or reinstalling it.

Request account and data deletion

Send the request from the account email when possible. We will verify ownership and generally complete verified requests within 30 days.

Delete immediately in the app

  1. Open smithworks and sign in.
  2. Open Settings, then Account.
  3. Choose Permanently delete account.
  4. Review the warning and type DELETE.
  5. Enter the current password and confirm permanent deletion.

If an owner account has active business members, those memberships must be removed or transferred before the owned business can be deleted. Contact support if you cannot complete that step.

Request deletion outside the app

Email [email protected] and state that you want the smithworks account and associated app data deleted. Include the account email and business name, but do not send a password or verification code. We may ask for additional information necessary to verify account ownership. You do not need to reinstall the app or sign in to submit the request.

What deletion removes

  • The smithworks login and account profile.
  • Owned business settings, services, hours, and document preferences.
  • Customers, jobs, quotes, invoices, recorded payments, and notes.
  • Memberships and connected Google Calendar credentials.
  • Queued communications and active synchronization records.

What may remain

  • Events already published to Google Calendar remain in that Google account until removed there.
  • Emails already delivered remain in recipient mailboxes and provider delivery logs under their normal retention practices.
  • Limited backups and security logs may remain until overwritten under normal retention schedules and are not available for ordinary use.
  • Records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving a dispute.

After deletion

Access ends and deletion cannot be undone. A new smithworks account may be created later, but deleted records will not be restored. The current pilot has no paid subscription to cancel.
